Text captureWordAloud reads electronic text (etext) from computer memory. WordAloud includes some reading material suitable for early learners. But you can type the text you want to have read, load it into memory from a disc, download it from the Internet, or scan it in. WordAloud can read any text in the computer, providing it can be saved in an ASCII (".txt") or HTML format. For scanning in text, you can use either a page scanner or a QuickLink Pen. For the teacher in a hurry, the QuickLink pen is ideal for quickly capturing a short amount of text or individual words, to use either in class or with individual students. For further information on these products, please see www.wizcomtech.com. The Quicklink Pen is £115(inc VAT) and can be ordered by email. There is also the BETT 2004-Shortlisted reading aid, The New Reading Pen. This pen is a breakthrough for dyslexics as it is portable and reads words and sentences aloud to you. The New Reading Pen comes with the Oxford Concise Dictionary and allows definitions to be looked up. Headphones are included for private use. The New Reading Pen is £200(Inc VAT) and can be ordered by email. | |
